Harry BRIOCHE :

Harry was born in the Seychelles, growing up on the island of Mahe before moving to England following the coup d’etat in 1977.

Despite attending art college Harry considers himself totally self-taught and initially entered the world of commercial art as an illustrator and graphic designer with his own company, but captivated by the drama and beauty of the atmospheric, ever changing British sky and landscape which was in sharp contrast to that of the Seychelles, Harry decided to seek out a career as a landscape painter.

“For me the landscape is almost incidental, my main objectives are to try and capture the atmosphere and spirit of a place. Ultimately it is the mood and light within the painting that becomes its central theme. As an artist I paint subjects that inspire me and bring me, and hopefully others, a great deal of pleasure.”
